Substitute Teaching

Orientation/Training Application Requirements

Substitute teachers are considered a valuable member of the educational team. Thank you for your interest in and dedication to the teaching profession and your willingness to serve.

As a service to the school districts in Summit County, the Summit County Educational Service Center (ESC) provides a list of substitute teachers who have completed the required training and application process. We take seriously the responsibility to provide substitute teachers who are prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver quality instruction in every classroom setting.

To be included on the Substitute Teacher List, every individual, regardless of experience and licensure type, who is new to substitute teaching through the Summit County ESC must meet several requirements, including completion of an orientation and substitute skills training program and completion of the application process.

Once you have successfully completed all of the requirements, you can turn them in on one of our scheduled drop-off dates to our office at 420 Washington Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221.
