Summit County ESC to Host Substitute Teacher Fair October 16

The Summit County Educational Service Center (SCESC) and partner school districts will host a Substitute Teacher Fair, Fri., Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at the SCESC office, located at 420 Washington Street in Cuyahoga Falls.
“Anyone considering being a certified substitute teacher in grades Pre-K through high school in Summit County or surrounding area should attend our event,” said Human Resources Director Bob Wolf.
Administrators from the following districts will be on site to conduct interviews with prospective substitute teachers: Akron Public Schools, Field Local Schools, Hudson City Schools, Mogadore Local Schools, Norton City Schools, Springfield Local Schools, Stow-Munroe Falls City Schools, Tallmadge City Schools, Woodridge Local Schools and the SCESC.
The SCESC will also hold a concurrent session during the event for individuals who hold bachelor degrees and want to learn how to apply for a temporary certificate in order to substitute in local school districts. Additional information will be available on background checks, training opportunities and assistance with ODE procedures.
