The learning outcomes define the proficiencies that fourth-grade students are expected to possess and apply as a result of their learning experiences in kindergarten through February of the fourth-grade year, and kindergarten through February of the sixth-grade year for sixth-grade students. The various learning outcomes are grouped into strands for organizational purposes.
The Proficiency Test in Citizenship is defined by eighteen (or more) learning outcomes. These learning outcomes, based on Ohio’s Model Competency-Based Social Studies Program, were developed by a committee of Ohio citizens (educators and business members) through a consensus-building process. These learning outcomes have been identified from six strands in the State Board adopted model curriculum.
