Administrative Services
Administrative Services include leadership in community and school district partnerships, facilitation of networking opportunities between and among district staff and area professionals, teacher certification assistance, a substitute teacher database and orientation, employee background screening and fingerprinting, and home-schooling approval.

Professional Staff Development
Professional Staff Development offers training and support services in core areas of math, social studies, reading, language arts, and science. Also included are speech and language in-service, curriculum and technology integration, computer applications, multimedia, curriculum alignment, course of study review, foreign language and ESL (English as a Second Language) consultation. In addition, a mentor/entry year program for administrators and teachers, and textbook and materials review are now offered.

Leadership Initiatives
Professional staff coordinates leadership opportunities and provides support for aspiring, entry and veteran school and district administrators.

School Improvement Initiatives
School Improvement Initiatives are supported by research-based facilitation of Continuous Improvement Planning; collection, aggregation, analysis, and feedback of student achievement data; and ongoing support with the Data Training Institute. The ESC staff offers leadership to affiliated districts in exploring and evaluating academic initiatives (e.g., the Standards for Success initiative).

Technology Services
Technical workshops include the Data Training Institute and Item Analysis, as well as technology integration, computer applications, and multimedia workshops. The Media Center offers video conferencing, video streaming, and online job application services. Over 2500 film titles on video, laser disks, and DVD's are included in the Media Center Library. Member districts are offered these films on loan at no cost.

Grant Initiatives
Grant initiatives provide assistance for innovative funding that supports schools' needs and improves educational opportunities for all children.

Educational Publications
Education's Summit is a professional journal that reaches out to educators and the community at large. This publication takes an in-depth look at educational goals and challenges facing Summit County schools. The First Edition is a newsletter for Summit County educators that focuses on unique stories within the districts, highlighting the successes of students, educators, and schools.
